Jira’s history keeps the old and new text of a field whole. Cascade marks the words that changed, inside the issue you already have open.
The rollout changed from all accounts at launch to a feature flag pending Finance approval.
Cascade Pro Free in early access. The last 7 days of diffs are planned to stay free; deeper history is planned for Pro.

Export and search details
- The preview above shows the first 5 of the sample file’s 12 rows and 4 of its 7 columns, exactly as Cascade wrote them: each level indents the summary and is numbered in Level. The download has every row and column.
- Download CSV and Copy for Excel both follow the filters and sorting in your current view.
- Copy for Excel places tab-separated rows on your clipboard, up to 5,000 rows.
- An export of a view that is still loading, or that hit a limit, says so in its file name.
- In search, every word narrows the results. Use
|or a comma to widen them, as inbilling | invoice.
- Search by key or summary, and matches stay under their parents.
- Filter by space, type and status without flattening the tree.
- Assigned to me gathers your issues from every space, under their epics.
Three steps from Jira to your tree.
Add Cascade to Chrome
Install it from its Chrome Web Store listing.
Open your Jira Cloud workspace
Sign in as usual. There is no separate account or API token.
Click the floating Cascade button
It starts on the right edge, and you can drag it elsewhere. Cascade opens in your Jira tab on Assigned to me.
Your organization’s browser policies may require approval to install an extension.
Free during early access.
Everything on this page works today without payment, including features labeled Cascade Pro. Some Pro features are planned to become paid later; this is what is planned to stay free.
| Feature | Stays free | Planned for Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Export | Stays free: Flat CSV download and flat Copy for Excel. | Planned for Pro: Indented CSV and indented Copy for Excel. |
| Issue diffs | Stays free: The last 7 days of diffs. | Planned for Pro: Deeper history and the since-your-last-visit view. |
| Inbox | Stays free: Mentions. | Planned for Pro: Comments, status changes and edits. |
These are planned boundaries, not restrictions in place today. Cascade Pro labels appear only on export, diffs and the Inbox; the tree, the details pane, search and filters carry none.
Your session. Your existing access.
Uses your existing Jira session. Cascade sees only what your Jira account can see, and its requests go to your own Jira site.
Writes only when you ask. Changing a status, assigning an issue to yourself, commenting or watching sends that change to Jira.
Stores cached work and preferences locally. Cached issues, layout and preferences stay in your browser, with the one exception below.
More on data, images and this website
- An install date is the one value Chrome sync can copy to your Google account.
- Avatars and pictures in issues load from where they live: Atlassian, Gravatar or the image’s own host.
- The extension has no analytics and no server of its own, and sends nothing to its developer.
- This website is separate. It uses cookieless counts of page views, sections reached, questions opened, store and demo link clicks, site link copies, film plays, sample downloads, interactive-demo steps and Pro waitlist visits and signups, and stores no identifiers. The demo on this page uses sample data and connects to nothing.
Before you add Cascade.
What is Cascade for Jira?
A Chrome extension that shows your Jira Cloud work as a tree inside your Jira tab. You can open an issue’s details beside the tree, see supported edits as diffs, and export what you are looking at.
Does it work with Jira Cloud?
Yes. Cascade is built for Jira Cloud sites on atlassian.net. Jira Server, Data Center and browsers other than Chrome are not supported.
Do I need a Jira administrator to install it?
No Jira administrator has to install anything: Cascade is a browser extension, not an Atlassian Marketplace app. Your employer may still restrict which browser extensions you can add, or require approval.
Does it change my Jira hierarchy?
No. The tree shows the parent and child links your issues already have. Stories, tasks and bugs normally share one level under an epic, and Cascade shows them that way. It only writes to Jira when you ask it to, for example to change a status or post a comment.
What happens to my Jira data?
Cascade reads Jira through your signed-in session, using the access you already have, and keeps what it stores in your browser, apart from an install date that Chrome sync can copy. It has no server of its own and sends nothing to its developer. Images in issues load from where they are hosted. The privacy policy has the details.
Can I see what changed, and export my view?
Yes. Cascade reads an issue’s history from Jira and shows edits to rich-text fields, such as the description or acceptance criteria, as a diff; other field changes appear as before and after values. The Inbox starts collecting activity when you install Cascade. Download CSV and Copy for Excel follow the filters and sorting in your view, flat or indented.
Is Cascade free?
Yes, today. Everything works without payment, including features labeled Cascade Pro, which are free for everyone during early access. Paid Pro features are planned for later; see what stays free, or join the Pro waitlist to hear when it opens.
